Backups

Save and restore roles, channels and permissions – manually or automatically.

Admins · Administrator

A backup saves your server's structure: roles, channels and permissions. Messages are not backed up. If something goes wrong – a compromised admin account, a nuke, a channel deleted by accident – you restore the structure.

Create and restore backups #

  • /backup create – save the current state
  • /backup list – show existing backups
  • /backup restore – restore a backup
  • /backup delete – delete a backup and free its slot
Careful when restoring A restore changes your server's roles and channels. Check with /backup list which backup you're using and run it deliberately. Evil6 needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles for this, and a role as high as possible.

Automatic backups #

With /backup auto enable Evil6 creates backups regularly – every 24 hours, every 7 days or every 30 days. /backup auto status shows the schedule, /backup auto disable turns it off again. Automatic backups are available to every server.

Sharing backups #

Use /backup share to share a backup with another admin, and /backup unshare to revoke it.
